Dawa

The characteristics

A) A Devine source: God is the source of the call to Allah, it is related to Him. This feature sanctifies and distinguishes it from the other pagan and earthy calls (Dawa), and even from the calls that relay on scriptures such as the corrupted Christianity which adopts the doctrine of Trinity.

Besides, the link up of the Dawa to Allah makes those who are charged with it feel tranquility and calmness, as it said by the prophet, may peace be upon him «what has lost the one who has found Allah?».

B) Worldly spread:

Dawa to Allah is not specific to a given human race but rather, it is addressed to all people (humanity). The Almighty Allah say: «And We did not send you but as a mercy to all beings » [surat Al Anbiya/ prophets, 107.]

It is universal in terms of time since it will not be stopped or interrupted till the day of doom. And in terms of space, it is Allah's light that enlightens the entire earth. Thus, those who call to Allah (Daďya) must feel themselves responsible for the spreading of this Dawa all over the world.

C) A global method:

This Dawa is addressed to all the classes of the society: the knowledgeables and the ignorants, the rich and the poor, the believers and the infidels, and takes into account their specificities. Its aim is to make the call set on clear sight, understanding and knowledge, so that it will be successful and fruitful.

The Almighty Allah say: « say: This is my way, I invite to God with sure knowledge, and I call whoever follows me. And glory be to God! Never will I associate partners with God »  [Surat Yusef /Joseph, 108].

D) It takes into account the real life of people:

Dawa is realistic; it considers the called people' social and cultural circumstances, and the nature of their problems and worries. This is why the one who calls them must be realistic in his actions.

E) A positive vision of the:

-Universe: It is a vision of populating and discovering. The universe where we live is controlled by the Law of God that we should discover and then work in accordance with it to start life on earth.

This vision creates in man the love of contemplation and makes him assert the belief in the Unity of God. Thus, his faith will be reinforced and his knowledge of God will be strengthened. The Almighty Allah Say: « … Surely those of His servants who have knowledge fear God alone…» [Surat Fâtir /Creator, 28].

Life: It is a period for good and fruitful work. It should not be appraised in analogy (compared) to man's life and this is what the prophet -may peace be upon him- wanted to impress on the believers' minds. He Said: «If the Day of Judgment has already come, and in the hands of one of you a seed, he should plant it».

It is fulfilled by the peasant man who planted trees that would fruit years later, when he was asked about the reason of his deeds he replied «they planted and we ate. Now, we plant and those who will come after will eat».

Man: He is that glorified creature, "We have ennobled Man".

He is a primordial element in the establishment of civilizations as it was Said by Malek Ben Nabi. Thus, this Man must be protected and preserved physically and spiritually, as our lord command « But seek in that God has given you, the Hereafter, and do not forget your portion of this life … »  [Surat Narration /Al Qasas, 77].

F) The legitimacy of the means and the goals:

In Islam, morals and standards are universal (general) and not specific to the Muslims. The prophet, may peace be upon him Said: «Do fear to God whenever you are, make good deeds, follow the bad actions with the good ones so that the formers will be erased and behave kindly (morally) towards people»

Unlike the Muslim Dawa, the Jewish one is based or set on the corrupted Mosaic Law (Tawrat), it propagate to behave morally, but in restriction to their group and race. The call to Allah's means and goals are legitimate and pure. From that derive these rules:

  • "The noble means from the noble goals"

  • "The purity of means from the purity of goals" and

  • "The safety of the beginnings is from the safety of the ends"

In the light of calling to Allah, the Machiavelli rule "the means justifies the ends" is denied and put aside because the means of Dawa are pure and its aim is noble; it consists of spreading and preaching Allah's religion all over the world.
