Is it permissible to carry out the funeral prayer upon someone who has abandoned his prayers?

Regardless of what the Ulemas said, it is allowed to carry out the funeral prayer upon someone who has abandoned his prayers as long as he continued to pronounce the two Shahadats ( the two confessions) when he was alive. Among the things that are useful for the dead, the following ones:

1 - A current charity.

2 - The prayers (invocations) of his pious son or daughter.

3 - A science that is of benefit to others.

4 - A charity that one of his relatives offer on his name.

5 - The prayers of the pious for him.

Allah the Great said: « And those came after them, saying: “Our Lord, forgive us and our brethren who preceded us in faith, and put not into our hearts any malice towards those who believe, our Lord, surly you are Compassionate, Most merciful». [Surat Al-Hasher/The Gathering, 10]
