Is it permissible to join gold with money in Nissab (the legal amount of money or any other property liable to the payment of Zakat)?
Gold can not be joined with money while calculating the Nissab because of the difference in their natures. Each one of them has its own Nissab. For example, Zakat is imposed on money only if it reaches its Nissab which equals 85 gram of gold, in addition to the passage of one year. The amount of Zakat liable to be paid in such a case is 2, 5 %.
