The objectives of the family |
|
|
1- Elevation of faith: The family sows the seeds of faith in the hearts of its children as to become monotheists and to believe in the prophet -may peace be upon him. The prophet may peace be upon him said: «every child is born in the state of Fitra (Islamic monotheism) and his parents convert him to Judaism Christianity or magianism…» [Reported by Imam Muslim]. 2-Moral and educational objectives: The family is the natural setting for the religious and social education of children, so they become effective and adaptable to the society. 3- Health objective: Legal marriage fortifies the self against adultery. The Prophet -may peace be upon him- said: «O, .Young men, if you are apt to marry, so marry. Marriage is the only means that keeps you from looking at other women and guards your chastity» [Reported by Muslim]. Today, the Western thinkers awake to the peril that threaten both the family and the society due to adultery, and warn people of them. 4- Social objective: Rising a family leads to social cohesion (relationship by marriage). The prophet -may pace be upon him- is the best example. He married his daughters to his companions: (Ali bnu Abi Taleb and Othman bnu Afâan - may God be pleased with them, and he gets married with his companions’ daughters (Abu Bakr Essiddiq and Omar bnu Al Khatab) -May God be pleased with them.
