Faith.
Introduction.
Faith is among the greatest subjects in people's lives and nations. It is a truth that humanity had known from centuries. Blue Tark who is a great historian said: "We have found towns without schools, towns without strong holds, towns without hospitals, but we have not found throughout history towns without sanctuaries. Even if humanity agreed on the notion of faith but it disagreed on its essences, i.e. what they should have faith on.
First: the true significance of belief. Faith is the belief with heart, the confession trough tong and the application by the organs.
Second: its bases (Its pillars). Allah, the great, limit them in his saying: «the messenger believes in what come down to him from his Lord, and so the believers. All the believed in God, in his angels, in his books and in his messengers» (Cow, 285). The prophet, may peace be upon him, in the name of Gabriel said: «Faith is to believe in God, his angels, his books, his messengers, the last day and fate with its good and evil» Reported by El-boukhari and Muslim.
Third: its branches. The prophet, may peace be upon him said: «Faith is more than seventy or sixty qualities .The highest one is there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah. The lowest one is to remove all what may cause harm in the street, and shyness is one of the qualities of faith» reported by El- Boukhari and Muslim. Ibn Hijer counted 73 portions of faith and classified them into three types: 1. The heart's deeds (26 qualities): Among them: Unitarianism, the belief in the unity of God, faithfulness, good intention and the unwavering belief. To put confidence (trust in God). 2. The tong's deeds: (7 qualities) among them, the utterance of Unitarianism, the learning of knowledge and its teaching, invocation of God and the avoidance of all what is nonsense. 3. The bodies' deeds (40qualities), among them spiritual purity, prayer, pilgrimage…
Fourth: the factors reinforce faith. Faith has no fixed state, sometimes it increases and strengthens and sometimes it decreases and weakens. Therefore, it needs some factors to reinforce it, among them: 1. Knowledge: Allah the great said: «say, are they equal the ones who know and the ones who do not know» (The Groups, 9). «Among His servants only the knowledgeable fear Allah» (The Creator, 28).
3. Invocation of God, the prophet may peace be upon him said: «renew your faith. It was said: with what, prophet of Allah? He said with your meetings». 4. Contemplation of Allah's creatures: Allah the great said «I will show them My signs in the universe and in themselves until it becomes evident for them that it is the truth (Koran) » (Explained in Detail, 53).
Fifth: the results of faith (fruits). 1. The force and energy to do good deeds: «he who want to meet his Lord, he has to do good deeds and he should not make any partner to his lord (in his worship) » (The Cave, 110). 2. Calmness and quietness: «It is Him, who have descended quietness in the hearts of the believers in order to strengthen their faith. (To add faith to their faith) » (The Victory, 4). 3. Constancy: «God consolidate the believers with a friend speech in the actual life and the hereafter» (Abraham, 27). 4. To guide the movement of science and knowledge to what is beneficial. 5. To control man's behaviour, the hidden and the apparent (repair or reform the hidden and the appearances). 6. To realize the qualities of manliness: «There is among the believers, men who are sincere in their promise to Allah. Some of them are dead, others are waiting and they have changed in no way» (The Combined Forces, 23). Faith is the greatest project which any Muslim must succeed in. |
